All our stays are exclusive with tailor-made programs. We want you to have a truly unique holiday, that meets your desires and expectations.
At the same time, we want the flexibility to choose the activity of the day according to the weather conditions for the best experience possible, for you and for the animals. Life in the North, especially when it comes to outdoor activities, depends a lot on Nature. Instead of fighting against it, we prefer to make the most of it!
Each winter month has something different to offer and will colour the stay accordingly.
You will spend a lot of time in nature and with the animals, especially the dogs, doing mostly activities involving them: with short and longer sled tours, snowshoeing and/or skiing, taking care of the dogs, maybe even helping us with grooming the trails with the snowmobile, and probably the most exciting: learning to drive your own team! Our dogs are built for races and are fast, very energetic and tireless! It is quite something to drive them…You will learn to do so in a safe and fun way, and will feel the thrill of mushing!
It is the perfect option if you want to immerse yourself in Life up North, as a musher, have time to chill at the Lodge after a cold day outside and make a complete break from your daily life.
Depending on the length of your stay and your desires, we can take you on a day trip to one of the nearby Sápmi sites for a cultural touch or to the ski resort.
For those who want to spend time with the animals but also not miss out on everything that Swedish Lapland has to offer! such as going on a snowmobile trip, going downhill skiing, backcountry skiing and/or visiting the area and some Sápmi sites.
During your stay, depending on its length, you will go on several sled dog tours, and get a chance to try driving. We will also take you to the chosen activities, some guided by us, some by our partners.
Our adventures with sled dogs started after adopting our first Alaskan Husky, Bobby. Shortly after, we adopted 9 more, and our pack has grown since to 15 Alaskan Huskies. We still have a relatively small number of dogs compared to other kennels, – and we like to keep it this way. We cherish their well-being above anything.
Dogs will be a central element of most of the activities that you will be discovering during your stay. We cannot wait to share with you our passion and love for these amazing, generous, and joyous creatures.
Our life and work with them are based on mutual respect and understanding, mindfulness and animal communication. They are incredible athletes, and we make sure that they get the training, activity and care that meet their needs.
You will also get to meet Stella and Ola, our two mares. Horses have always been part of Rachel’s life since childhood, and having her own horses at home were a dream come true.
Last but not least, Sparta, who turned 13 and Milwyn, the Magick Cat, are the Mascots of Granberget View Lodge!
